Parkdale Mills
Parkdale Mills recently invested $120 million to expand its Mountain City plant. It choose the location over several other states and is the company’s largest ring spinning plant. Parkdale is one of the largest consumers of U.S. cotton with 28 plants in the Americas. It recently added close to 100 jobs and 222,158 square feet to its existing footprint. It supplies spun yarn to Wrangler, Fruit of the Loom, Hanes and other large clothing manufacturers.
Danny Herman Trucking
Both a national and international transportation service provider, Danny Herman Trucking has been active in the industry since 1964, when its headquarters opened in Johnson County. The county’s strategic location afforded the company smooth roads and direct access to major markets. Plus, the educated workforce ensures the company’s commitment to excellence. The trucking company is the largest employer in the county.

A leading global supplier of night vision equipment and thermal and tactical accessories, Nightline provides both equipment and training to U.S. and foreign military and law enforcement personnel. The company chose Johnson County’s strategic and mountainous location to do its research and the development of its top quality products.
